EMLYON business school launches new app to determine entrepreneurial profiles

Want to know what kind of entrepreneur you are? There’s an app for that.

A new mobile app, designed to help budding entrepreneurs define their own entrepreneurial profile has been launched by EMLYON business school in France.

“EMLYON Entrepreneur Profiles”, developed by professors Michel Coster and Marie-Jose Bernard, allows users to work through a series of meetings with five virtual entrepreneurs. Users discuss specific start-up topics and answer questions about their personal preferences in a series of hypothetical situations.. The app then uses these inputs to determine the user’s entrepreneurial profile.

Users can then align themselves with one of the five typical entrepreneurial profiles identified by the app to gain a deeper insight into their ambitions and motivations. Each of the profiles is inspired by real-life individuals.

Michel Coster, head of the EMLYON incubator and a veteran of hundreds of start-up projects over a 25 year career, says “Many assume that an entrepreneur is an entrepreneur, but there are many different types of entrepreneurs, and understanding your skills and motivations is an important part of any project’s success. This app allows users to do this in a fun and accessible way.”

The app is now available at the App Store and Google Play Store and will also be presented to attendees at the World Entrepreneurship Forum hosted by EMLYON on the 21st October 2014.
